Privacy Policy
Halvren Capital ("Halvren," "we," "us") operates the website halvrencapital.com. This policy explains what information we collect from visitors, how we use it, and the choices you have. We have tried to keep this short and plain.
What we collect
We collect as little as possible.
- Standard server logs. Our hosting provider (Vercel) automatically records request metadata such as IP address, user agent, referrer, and timestamp. This is used to operate the service, investigate abuse, and measure aggregate performance. Retention follows Vercel's policies.
- Aggregate, cookieless analytics. We use Plausible Analytics to count visits and identify which pages get read. Plausible does not use cookies, does not track visitors across sites, does not collect personal data, and is GDPR/PECR/CCPA-compliant by default. The data Plausible reports to us is fully anonymous and aggregate; we cannot identify individual readers from it. No browser fingerprinting, no advertising pixels, no session replay, no cross-site tracking.
- Email. If you contact us at amirali@halvrencapital.com, your message and email address are retained so we can reply.
- Newsletter. If you subscribe to our Substack, the signup and all subsequent engagement data are handled by Substack under Substack's own privacy policy. Halvren does not operate an independent mailing list and does not store subscriber emails on this site — the subscribe forms across the site open Substack in a new tab and the handoff happens there.
- Checklist tool rate-limit + cache. The live Checklist scoring tool stores two short-lived items in Upstash Redis on Vercel: (1) a SHA-256 hash of your IP address paired with a per-hour counter, used to enforce the 5-scores-per-hour rate limit (the raw IP is never stored; the hashed counter expires after one hour); and (2) the JSON output of any score generated for a given ticker that month, cached so subsequent readers don't re-run the model unnecessarily. The cached score expires after 30 days. Neither item is associated with you personally.
What we do not collect
- Financial or account information of any kind.
- Portfolio holdings, transactions, or positions.
- Any data tied to an identifiable natural person beyond what you voluntarily send us by email.
- Cookies. The site sets no first-party cookies and loads no third-party JavaScript that sets cookies on our behalf.
AI & machine indexing
Halvren publishes its public research for free and permits ingestion by language models with attribution. The full position is on /about; the technical surface lives at /llms.txt (a slim index) and /llms-full.txt (a concatenated long-form bundle). Crawler-level allow/deny is in /robots.txt. We do not collect data about AI crawlers beyond the standard server logs above.
How we use what we collect
To operate and secure the website, respond to email you send us, and comply with applicable law. That is the full list.
Sharing
We do not sell, rent, or share personal information with third parties for marketing. We may disclose information if compelled by a lawful Canadian or Canadian-equivalent process, or to protect Halvren's rights or the safety of others.
Your rights
Under Canadian privacy legislation (PIPEDA and, where applicable, British Columbia's PIPA), you may request access to, correction of, or deletion of any personal information Halvren holds about you. Write to amirali@halvrencapital.com. We will respond within 30 days.
Children
This site is not directed at children under 13 and we do not knowingly collect information from them.
Changes
If this policy changes materially we will update the "last updated" date above and, where required, provide notice on the home page.
